Twice a decade, Congress passes a Farm Bill, which is a compilation of food and farm issues bundled into one massive package. As the U.S. Senate takes up the bill, we have an incredible opportunity to press for inclusion of some of our key animal protection bills.
Please urge your U.S. Senators to support the inclusion of
three animal welfare bills -- the OFF Act, the Dog and Cat Meat Trade
Prohibition Act, and the PACE Act -- in the Senate Farm Bill. These three bills already have tremendous bipartisan support and the Farm Bill is an ideal vehicle to get them passed.
Please take a moment to call your two U.S. Senators; you can find their phone numbers here.
You can say, "As your constituent, I urge you to please vote for
pro-animal protection amendments that may come up for a vote in the Farm
Bill: the Lee/Booker/Hassan checkoff amendment, the
Wyden/Collins/Booker/Heller/Blumenthal animal fighting amendment, and
the Gillibrand/Toomey/Rubio dog and cat meat prohibition amendment. Each
of the past three Farm Bills have contained important animal protection
provisions, and this Farm Bill must also."
Calling is so important. Please do not skip this crucial step. Then, personalize and submit the letter below to send a follow-up message.
