Today, following pressure from the U.K. animal rights group Viva!, including undercover video shot at a foie gras farm and an online petition asking Amazon to ban the sale of foie gras, Amazon UK announced it would indeed no longer sell foie gras on its U.K. site.
This latest victory demonstrates that it is within Amazon's power to do away with products of egregious animal cruelty.
Now it's time to urge Amazon in the U.S. to adopt the same ethical policy against foie gras.
This past May, a Mercy For Animals investigator documented a culture of cruelty at Hudson Valley Foie Gras, a major Amazon foie gras supplier based in Ferndale, N.Y.
